Description

The great sculptors of the 1900s, such as Luca Beltrami, Giò Ponti,
Arturo Martini, Giò Pomodoro, Lucio Fontana etc. were called together to
elaborate and reflect on death. Unique works.
Just observing it from the outside, this place strikes you for its grand
dimensions, a space of 250 thousand meter squared, a sort of grand oasis of peace, silence and tranquility. And those who imagine this cemetery as an especially sad place are mistaken. In reality, it presents itself as a pleasant place to visit, rich with information and accompanied by interesting artistic detail.
The “Cimitero Monumentale” is, in fact the second most visited place,
after the Duomo, by tourists searching for Milan’s treasures.
