The basic ceramics course aims to provide the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge on working with clay, from designing an artifact to its creation using the main manual construction techniques such as the slab and the colombino. The course will alternate short theoretical moments with practical exercises in which the various methods of working with clay, modeling and coloring the artifacts will be addressed. Through a brief history of ceramics and the observation of examples, it will be possible to broaden the knowledge of a vast, varied and ever-evolving creative world. The teachers will follow each individual participant, adapting the program to their specific needs and peculiarities.
Organization and costs - The meetings take place at: Studio Aperto
Quattrini - art laboratory in via Ulisse Merini 7- 21100 Varese – Station area.
Each laboratory includes 5 to 10 participants, the hourly cost is 10 euros per participant, including clay, colors and ceramic oven firing of the artifacts.
Course lasts 2 hours. Participants can decide to organise a second meeting with the laboratory.
